Balkan Summit 2026: three markets in one room in Prishtina
Over two working days at the Emerald Hotel, ministers, financiers and companies from the three markets met around one regional pipeline.
Balkan Summit 2026 took place in Prishtina from 18 to 21 October, at the Emerald Hotel. For the first time, Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia presented their public infrastructure pipelines side by side, as one platform, to international financial institutions, investors and companies.
The working programme ran over Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 October. Monday was given to sovereign and regional infrastructure: transport, environment, energy and AI data centres, and the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games with tourism and hospitality. Tuesday turned to the private sector: industry and manufacturing, medical tourism, digital services and the innovation ecosystem, and agri-food.
Every plenary followed the same format. The three countries set out their projects, financiers responded on what makes them bankable, and the floor put its questions. Thematic panels ran in parallel in the Strauss Hall, and the Meeting & Networking Hall hosted matchmaking in five tracks: B2B, B2G, G2G, B2IFI and G2IFI.
On stage across the two days were government representatives from the three markets, including ministers and deputy ministers, the Mayor of Prishtina, and representatives of the World Bank Group, IFC, the EBRD, the EU Office in Kosovo, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, KfW and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. They were joined by companies from the region, Italy and Türkiye.
The edition opened on Sunday 18 October with a Welcome Dinner for sponsors, panelists and government officials. Monday closed with the Gala Business Dinner.
Each sector has its own article in this series: who spoke, what was said, and what was put on the table.
Balkan Summit 2026 was made possible by its sponsors: Fundway and GCF Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie; TITAN SHARRCEM, SOLE 24, PriBank and PriSig, BKT, Prishtina Hospital and Integral Group; and Kosmonte Foods and Eurofood. The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development took part as partner.
